In my lab, we study intelligence and develop algorithms that generate intelligent behavior in robots by applying robot-learning techniques to everyday problems. I’m always looking for outstanding and motivated new members for our team. Consider applying if you are eager to learn and create new methods in robot learning, artificial perception, control, and planning. You should enjoy working with real robots in the real world.

How to get involved in our research:

  • If you are enrolled at UT Austin, send me an email, tell me about yourself, and we will schedule a meeting to explore opportunities. You should have some background in robotics, ML, DNN, RL, IL, AI, control, or planning. If not, you should be very motivated to catch up on the latest advances in those areas. Students from all disciplines (CS, ME, ECE…) are welcome. Students from URM are encouraged to apply.
  • If you want to apply to UT Austin’s graduate program (Master’s, Ph.D.), you will need to do it through the official platform. You can mention me/my lab in your statement of purpose. Do not send me your applications! I can’t admit graduate students, only the admissions committee.
  • If you are looking for an internship or a postdoctoral opportunity, fill in this form.
